Mama, dada, baba, tja, tja tja....

I wish I took better notice of when Mr. Meh's babbling changed. But it's been such a fluid process that it's been hard to do so (kind of like his sleeping schedule. It have evolved so much over the months).

It started off when he was a few weeks old with boo, and goo, then over teh summer it became the rasperries, which then turned into brrr, brrr, brrr, which he still does. Then there are also:

Mama
For the last few weeks (probably two months now), he's been saying Mama. Mama, mama, mama -- it's like he's practicing voice, intonation, pitch, accent etc... It's really funny. Every once in a while, there is also an angry mama, where the mama becomes very gurgural and throaty, as if he's really angry. It's really funny. As Andy says, I'm being summoned.

It also doesn't always mean me. It's just a noise he likes to make. He also likes to declare mama to everyone around him -- his dad, grandpa and grandma. He also calls grandma mama.

However, twice I noticed that as he wakes up from a nap, he says mama as he's waking up. He did that once while he and I were out strolling around and he woke up from a nap. A few days later I heard him say the same thing as he woke up from a nap in his crib. It melted my heart.

Baba
He's also been saying baba, baba, for quite some time now. Andy thinks it refers to Mariposa. I'm not so sure. I think he just likes to say it.

Dada
There is also dada, which means daddy. Over the last few weeks, he's been definitely saying dada every time he sees Andy. It's so cute. The other morning, I brought him to bed and as soon as he saw Andy he said dada. My mom noticed he did the same thing when he saw Andy coming down the stairs.

Tja, tja, tja,
We're not sure what that means, if anything.

Meh, meh
There is also an angry meh, meh, where he tenses up his body and flings out his arms and legs. It's really funny. I'm pretty sure he's learned that from Mariposa because it sounds exactly as the pre-bark bark she makes when she's about to start barking at someone walking down the street.
