On Dec 9, at about 10 am, Mr Meh woke up from his nap (as he usually does) and starting calling us. The process takes some 15 minutes -- as the babbling (to his toys, I assume) gradually intensifies into screams to come and get him. I wasn't home to witness this, but when Andy walked into his room, he was greated by a huge two-lowered teeth grin of Ivan standing in his crib. It was the first time he pulled himself up. And he looked so proud of himself. We have the cutest photos to prove it.
Since then, all he wants to do is pull himself up.....from standing up in the bathtub to touch the faucet or throw his toys over the bathtub and then retrieve them...to climbing over me to pull himself up on our bed's headboard....to pulling himself up on furniture.
The other day he's even taken a few very cautious steps.
"Zubis"
Also, in addition to the two lower teeths, on Dec 16 his upper teeth broke through. They still haven't fully grown in, so they're only visible if I'm looking at him from underneath -- he still continues to be quite propriatery about the teeth and won't let me look in his mouth.
But now when he eats, he likes to grab the spoon with the teeth and hold onto it. Quite funny.
Weight
It also seems to me that he's gotten huge over teh last month. He seems so much bigger, sturdier, chubbier, stockier and heavier. And he has the biggest belly.
He totally looks like those little Raphael cherubim. (And he acts like one.) Next month we go for his 1 year appointement and I'm curious to hear what the doctor will say -- how much he weight and what percentile he's in. He has to have moved up from the 10-25th percentile he was in at his 9 month visit.
Babbling
He also continue to get quite vocal....Every day he seems to practice a new word. Mamamamamam is quite popular. So is mama. He says mama so nicely but I still can't figure out whether he means it or whether it's just the sound he's making. Regardless, it melts my heart.
